I have a lot of movies on a portable hard drive, but I'm getting a mac book Can I keep my movie?
All movies VLC format and are having to Mac, but all movies are from my PC.
Do not let Windows incompatibility warp their view of the Mac The Mac is fully supported. Simply plug in Windows format unit. The Mac will read it. One caveat, however. If it is formatted NTFS, the Mac will not be able to write in it. Apple, being the most ethical company, they do not infringe the proprietary format NTFS. Just copy everything to the Mac, reformat the drive, then everything moving backwards. If there is insufficient space on the Mac hard disk, burn the rest to CDs or DVDs. Or copy through the Windows file sharing. In turn this by virtue of sharing in the Mac System Preferences. See, one more thing that makes the Mac more compatible than Windows.
